Council for Social Partnership in “Lufthansa Technik Sofia”

On October 9, 2015 an expert team of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions in Bulgaria met with the management of “Lufthansa Technik Sofia”, represented by the CEO of the Company Daniel Hoffman and Tsveta Milanova, Head of “Human Resources”. Protest of European railway workers on the 4th railway package

Today, October 8, the European Ministers of Transport meet in Luxembourg to discuss and possibly adopt a common approach on the political pillar of the 4th railway package. WORLD DAY FOR DECENT WORK

The date 7 October was chosen in 2008 by the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) to mark the World Day for Decent Work. Since then this day is celebrated in more than 130 countries worldwide. The term “decent work” was introduced by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and has become a focus of the industrial relations.
On this date millions of trade unionists bring together their actions and efforts to achieve a fair income, security in the workplace and social protection for their families. Прочети още

NO to forced labour and “modern slavery”

The World Day for Decent Work was marked by another important event. FTTUB addressed a letter to the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Bulgaria Ivaylo Kalfin. There, besides the WDDW, the federation calls for support for ratification of the 2014 Protocol to the ILO Convention on Forced Labour. This was FTTUB contribution to the initiative of the International Trade Union Confederation, personally led by its General Secretary Ms Sharon Burrow. Прочети още

Safety is of paramount importance to the public but also to the aviation industry.

Safety is not only a legal requirement but also a key contributor to sustainable business. Any entity in aviation has therefore a responsibility to maintain and improve safety. Staff working in the aviation industry, at all levels, have a safety responsibility and are key to a safe system.

A safe aviation system requires events that affect or could affect aviation safety to be reported fully, freely and in a timely manner as needed to facilitate their investigation and the implementation of lessons learnt.

Today, October 5, in the frame of the election campaign for local government in the capital of Bulgaria, was signed an agreement between the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) and the candidate of GERB political party and current Mayor of Sofia Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova.

The agreement is an expression of the accumulated positive experience, built mutual trust and predictability of social partners’ actions and their will to preserve, strengthen and build upon the achievements during the next term. Прочети още

Congress days in Paris: Day four (final)

This day was devoted to organizational issues and to introspection. In this day the results of the elections for a new leadership of the ETUC were announced (for more information, see the ETUC website). The new President’s name is Rudy De Leeuw, Belgium and the new Secretary General is Luke Visentini, Italy. After the announcement of the results, he launched a debate on the role of the ETUC in which leaders of affiliate national unions expressed their views. Among them was the President of CITUB Plamen Dimitrov. A declaration was adopted as the basis for the future action plan.
The Congress was officially closed with applause and music.
The Executive Committee met to elect a new Steering Group and two vice presidents.
The day ended with a press conference at which the ETUC reported the Congress outcomes to the media and the general public.
