Today in Paris starts the 13th Congress of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). It will be attended by nearly 500 voting delegates and another 200 without the right to vote, representing 90 national trade unions from 40 countries. They will be joined by reps of 10 more federations and other trade union structures. The discussions, brought together in four main panels will continue four days. The Congress will vote the Theme Paris Manifesto, the new Working Programme 2015 – 2019 and some resolutions. On 25 September, the Confederation of the Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria hosted a formal meeting with the Permanent Representative of the World Bank in Bulgaria Tony Thompson in a time when our country expects its detailed analysis of the state of the economy. Brief overview of key data and conclusions was presented by Mr. Thompson in his presentation “Bulgaria’s potential for sustainable growth and shared prosperity.” It outlined the parameters of development, which obviously the World Bank considers advisable.
“The 43rd Congress in Sofia was the most powerful Congress of the International Transport Federation (ITF), which I have seen, and I have seen a lot!”. Two ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation) action weeks will cover East Asian waters and the Black Sea in a sweep to search out and rectify substandard conditions. Both events will run from 6 to 10 July.
