New fire station for Lyulin district of Sofia

A new fire station was opened in Sofia on 27 September. It will serve the districts of Lyulin, Vrabnitsa, Bankya and partially Ilinden. The new construction had been built with the support of Sofia municipality. The ceremony was opened by Bishop Branitski Gregory with a traditional holy water rite. The opening was attended by the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandykova and the Minister of Regional Development Lilyana Pavlova, the Deputy Minister of Interior Krasimir Tsipov, Chief Commissioner Fire Safety and Population Protection Nikolay Nikolov, the Mayor of Lyulin Milko Mladenov and councilors – as Ekaterina Yordanova, president of the FTTUB.
This is the ninth fire station on the territory of Sofia. Lilyana Pavlova explained that the equipment and the cars for the new fire station were delivered within the “Regional development” program. Pavlova also expressed her beliefs that due to the modern equipment the working environment for the employees would improve.
