Today, October 8th, Holding BDZ EAD hosted a social partners’ meeting initiated by FTTUB. The goal was the signing of the so-called Mannheim declaration – a joint declaration of the European social partners to support the development of rail freight. By this act the management of the enterprise in the face of Mr. Krastev, CEO of the holding company, and Mr. Droumev, manager of the rail freight company from one side, and the President of FTTUB Ek. Yordanova with the leaders of the other unions – party to the CLA from the other, joined the call for the European institutions to urgently develop a plan for justice and growth of rail freight in Europe and to increase the competitiveness of the sector after its long neglect. Support of trade unions and railway companies from all European countries aims to give due weight to the call, so that extremely necessary measures have been taken. Mr. Krastev and Mr. Drumev unanimously expressed their appreciation of the contribution of the Bulgarian social partners in this respect.
“The power of the social partnership is not only in achieving agreements, but in standing behind common causes, such as the development of rail freight” – said Ekaterina Yordanova, President of FTTUB.
The declaration was signed during the ITF “Week of road transport” campaign within the Action week, on the very same day when the trade unions of the ETF Railway Section held a demonstration in Luxembourg where transport ministers discussed the political pillar of the Fourth railway package.
